This self-paced tutorial provides an overview of patient navigation and its history. The tutorial examines the barriers that keep patients from getting healthcare and the role patient navigators play in helping patients “navigate” the healthcare system. Included are interactive practice items, a patient video and a “day in the life” description of one urban patient navigator.
